Why Funky Shadez? For my entire life I’ve loved being outside. Whether it’s on the water kayaking, boating, waterskiing, or fishing, or on dry land biking, hiking, or golf, and even in the winter I enjoy downhill snow skiing, or pond hockey. Spending so much time in the sun made me appreciate a good pair of sunglasses – both to protect my eyes, and look good. I used to buy expensive name-brand glasses that worked well, but in my travels and sports I’d break them or lose them. I also tried cheap glasses, but they were uncomfortable or had poor optics.
I wanted high quality but reasonable prices. And I wanted bold colors and unique look.
So I founded Funky Shadez. My vision was simple: to provide a wide range of sunglasses that didn't just protect eyes but also expressed a unique personality and bold sense of style. Bright colors were at the heart of my design philosophy, capturing the vibrant spirit of youth and the energy of summer.
The journey to establish Funky Shadez was not without its challenges. I had to meticulously research and partner with manufacturers who could provide top-notch materials and craftsmanship, ensuring the durability and quality of their sunglasses.
The core idea of providing affordable sunglasses means I only sell online, cutting out middlemen and passing on the savings to customers. This decision allowed me to maintain affordability without compromising on quality.
